Three cities in Baden-Württemberg are among the smartest in Germany
According to the Smart-City-Index by statista and Handelsblatt, which measures the degree of digitalization in major German cities, three cities from Baden-Württemberg are among the top ten: Karlsruhe, Stuttgart and Heidelberg.
Karlsruhe and Stuttgart rank second and third in the Smart-City-Index behind Hamburg. The two cities score particularly in the area of mobility, where they occupy top positions. The city of Heidelberg ranks sixth among the smartest cities behind Berlin and Munich. Also noteworthy is the city of Mannheim, which ranks first in the area of digital administration.
