07.07.2010 Stuttgart. The ILA Berlin Air Show (June 8-10) was a success for fipart, provider of the online marketplace for the aviation industry. It not only acquired new customers for its networking and trading platform, but also established new contacts for potential business in the future.
The ILA 2010 was the fifth trade fair this year that fipart has attended. "ILA is unique because it attracts visitors from such a wide variety of sectors in the industry," said fipart's Chief Executive Officer Andreas Lampprecht. "That really helps us increase our visibility in sectors other than the traditional after-market market in which we're most active."
The trade fair also gave fipart an opportunity to update key government officials from its home state of Baden-Württemberg about its business model and growth prospects. Baden-Württemberg’s economic affairs minister, Ernst Pfister, visited fipart’s display on June 10 to learn more about the young company and how it has fared during the economic crisis.
In a speech that Pfister later gave during the fair, he highlighted the importance of young high-tech firms like fipart for the Baden- Württemberg’s economy. He also underscored the contribution the aviation and aerospace industry makes to the regional economy. The industry currently employs 12,000 people and generates EUR 2.7 billion in revenues. According to the Forum of Aviation and Aerospace Association of Baden-Württemberg (LRBW), of which fipart is a member, sales, employment and research and development are expected to grow significantly in the future.
