23.02.2010 Stuttgart/Hanover – A total of 17 companies and institutions will be joining forces on the joint Baden-Württemberg stand at CeBIT 2010. They will be presenting their latest product trends and innovative services to an international public of specialists in the Public Sector Parc (Stand C40, Hall 9). Especially for small and medium-sized companies from the southwest, this platform will be a good opportunity to establish lasting business contacts.
One of the focal points of the exhibition put on by Baden-Württemberg International (bw-i) and the presentation organised by MFG Baden-Württemberg will be IT services for the public sector – a market with great potential. BITKOM, the high-tech association, is anticipating that 2010 will see further stimulation of the IT industry, especially as a result of demand from the public sector. Solutions for improved and efficient administration processes will be offered at the joint stand by the Baden-Württemberg central data office, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of the Interior of Baden-Württemberg, as well as T-Systems International GmbH, among others.
The importance of CeBIT for Baden-Württemberg as an industrial and business location will also be underlined by the fact that Minister President Stefan Mappus as well as Minister of Economics Ernst Pfister will be visiting the joint Baden-Württemberg stand and other exhibitors from the southwest. On Thursday, the 4th of March 2010, they will be talking to the companies and institutions on site in order to acquaint themselves with current trends and developments in information and communication technology.
“ICT services are becoming more and more important. Especially small and medium-sized companies from Baden-Württemberg are offering outstanding solutions for making business processes more efficient and even more secure. The companies and institutions who will be represented on the stand will be revealing the scope of Baden-Württemberg's innovative strength in matters IT", emphasized Klaus Haasis, CEO of MFG, and Herbert Bossinger, director of Baden-Württemberg International.
For around ten years now, the joint Baden-Württemberg stand organised by MFG Baden-Württemberg and Baden-Württemberg International has been a fixed component of CeBIT. Some exhibitors from preceding years such as AEG – Gesellschaft für moderne Informationssysteme mbH, Dudenverlag, the FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik, the Sphinx Group or T-Systems Individual Desktop Solutions GmbH are taking part again in 2010. This year, five new exhibitors will also be presenting themselves on the joint stand: BWG Informationssysteme GmbH, chocoBRAIN GmbH & Co. KG, ITOMIG GmbH, the Ministry of Justice Baden-Württemberg and Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH.
The following events at the joint Baden-Württemberg stand will offer an opportunity for the extensive exchange of information and ideas as well as for networking with representatives from diverse sectors of industry:
• Baden-Württemberg presentation for guests invited by Minister of Economics Ernst Pfister, followed by a standing reception from 12.00 to 1.45 p.m. on Thursday, 4th of March 2010.
• "Public Sector“ happy hour from 5.00 to 6.00 p.m. on Wednesday, 3rd of March 2010
The Happy Hour will be a good opportunity to meet potential business partners, initiate cooperative ventures, make new contacts, and exchange ideas with decision-makers and the persons responsible for IT from the local communities and regions of Baden-Württemberg.
The joint Baden-Württemberg stand will also serve as a point of contact for students and job-seekers in technical professions who want to find out about employment opportunities in the IT industry or other technical sectors. More information can be obtained at: www.bw-jobs.de.
