  • The quality of “made in Baden-Württemberg” products is also confirmed by a high level of exports. Indeed, nearly every fifth machine bought internationally comes from Germany, and most come from Baden-Württemberg.

  • Companies working in the mechanical engineering and plant manufacturing sector have a large potential source of qualified employees available to them in Baden-Württemberg. Production engineering companies based in this federal state employ more than 50% of all staff working in the manufacturing industry. The density of engineers, scientists and technicians in Baden- Württemberg is among the highest in Europe.

  • The Universities of Karlsruhe and Stuttgart as well as the Colleges of Aalen, Esslingen, Karlsruhe, Pforzheim, Ravens- burg-Weingarten and Ulm are the leaders within the German higher education system for mechanical engineering. However, the remaining establishments also train a highly qualified workforce and guarantee a high level of research for the mechanical engineering sector in Baden-Württemberg.
