High employee potential for control engineering enterprises due to excellent higher education network.

• The universities and specialist higher education establishments in Baden-Württemberg are ranked amongst the top facilities in German higher education in the disciplines of electrical engineering and IT. The universities of Karlsruhe and Stuttgart are rated amongst the best universities in these subject areas. The universities in Ulm and Freiburg also achieve a high ranking, and have proved to be outstanding educational establishments for prospective electrical engineers and IT specialists.

• In terms of specialist higher education establishments, almost all the facilities in the region offer excellent educational opportunities in the area of electronics and electrical engineering. Amongst the top rated are the specialist educational establishments in Aalen, Esslingen/Göppingen, Pforzheim and Ulm.

• At the nine universities and 23 higher education establishments in the state, approximately a quarter of all students follow courses related to control engineering.

• Measured against the whole of Germany, around 18% of students in courses related to control engineering graduate in Baden-Württemberg.
