Baden-Württemberg – The hub of Europe
Baden-Württemberg lies at the intersection of Europe's main transport routes. The Paris-Budapest, Amsterdam-Milan, Hamburg-Marseille and Warsaw-Paris corridors intersect each other precisely in Baden-Württemberg.

Leading consulting and real-estate companies (Jones-Lang-Lasalle and others) assume that the expansion of the European Union towards the east will lead to a situation where the logistics centre of Europe will also move eastwards. This means that the coordinates for top logistics locations will shift from the Benelux region to Germany, where new locations qualify for the settlement of European distribution centres.

Differentiated logistics services are a prerequisite for the successful integration of our industry into global structures of procurement and sales. This especially applies to our branches of industry that are strong in the area of exports, namely automotive, mechanical engineering, chemicals and the electrical industry. In terms of the effects on jobs, logistics is the second most important branch of industry in Baden-Württemberg.

The logistics market throughout Europe is estimated to be worth around 470 billion euros. For the next few years, annual growth of between 3% and 7% is predicted for the logistics industry.

As a logistics location, Baden-Württemberg is well established and is integrated into worldwide production processes. Due to the expansion of Europe, Baden-Württemberg has been pushed to the centre of trans-European trading relations.
