The vehicles of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, continue to meet the highest quality standards in the U.S., the largest export market of the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer. This is the result arrived at by the US market research institute J.D. Power in its latest opinion survey, which was published yesterday under the name "Initial Quality Study". Porsche achieved second place after Lexus and is therefore the best European manufacturer at the same time.
In this prestigious brand rating study, Porsche occupies one of the leading positions for the fourth time in a row. In 2006 and 2008, the Stuttgart manufacturer of premium sports cars came first. Frank Tuch, head of corporate quality at Porsche said: "Three first places and one second place in the brand rating of the well-known J.D. Power Initial Quality Study in the last four years are the result of consistent high-quality work and an orientation to the customer during development, in production and in sales. The award shows that our sustainability strategy has worked. The challenge is not to achieve a high quality standard in the short term but to assure it over a period of many, many years. This is based on a lot of hard work and reflects the high level of satisfaction of Porsche customers with the quality of our new cars."
J.D. Power examines the satisfaction of new-car buyers in the first 90 days after delivery of the vehicles. On the basis of a list of questions with a total of 228 criteria, just under 81,000 customers were asked about their impressions of the car's quality and finish.
