Hanna von Hoerner was born in 1942 as a daughter of famous astrophysicist Sebastian von Hoerner’s. In 1962 the family moves to the USA where she becomes electro engineer and works at the world’s largest radio telescope of that time in Green Banks/West Virginia.

In 1965 she comes back to Germany to begin her studies of experimental physics in Heidelberg. During that time she already founds the company von Hoerner & Sulger. With big success: nowadays 20 employees work at von Hoerner & Sulger and obtain an annual turnover of eight million Euros. In this highly concentrated market the company achieves something unique: when it comes to particle spectrometry even billion-dollar companies like Alcatel-Space or Astrium cannot go without von Hoerner’s abilities.
