At the beginning of the coming year, the software company IBM will start to build its new German headquarters south of Stuttgart. As an extension to the two star-shaped office buildings which already exist, a third building with 12,000 square meters of office space is to be erected in Ehningen, where a further 2,500 employees, previously accommodated at the old location in Vaihingen, will start to work from the middle of 2009. The new building is an investor-model project that will be paid for by a financial investor and leased back to IBM.
