The health care sector and industry-related services will create the most new jobs in Baden-Württemberg up to 2010. A new study by the Institute for Regional and Cluster Management predicts 53,000 new jobs in the health care sector and 32,000 in industry-related services. According to the new study, the fields of construction, automobile and automobile parts, and mechanical engineering are among the industries that will lose out.
According to this study, Baden-Württemberg will gain 47,000 new jobs, even though the state has lost some of its head start over other states. While the manufacturing industry strongly predominates, other high-growth industrial sectors such as health care, veterinary and social services are “under-represented” in Baden-Württemberg’s economy.
The reason for the high overall employment is based on the competence sectors of medicine and measurement technology as well as data processing and databases and the booming industrial sectors of health care and industry-related services.
