Industries & Clusters

The economic structure of our state is many-sided.

Besides the automotive industry and the aerospace industry, sustainable mobility concepts like electro mobility play an increasingly important role. An important column is also the mechanical engineering: Every third machine manufactured in Germany has its origin in Baden-Württemberg. Further key industries are the health care industry as well as the information and communication technologies. Environmental technology and renewable energies are our growth engines for the future.

The industries are shaped by a narrow networking of global players, efficient small and medium-sized enterprises as well as universities and research institutions. Statewide, there are furthermore a great number of clusters, cluster initiatives and industry networks actively promoting innovations and bundling up synergies, and strengthening the state's international competitive capacity this way. This special cooperation and network structure is an element of success for the location in the southwest.

The Baden-Württemberg regional cluster atlas or Baden-Württemberg cluster portal offer further information on the clusters, cluster initiatives and national networks.
